Brandon Wright Senior Pastor
Brandon recently came to FBC Gunter from Southern Indiana where he successfully helped plant and lead a thriving Southern Baptist Church for almost 10 years. Prior to leading CrossRoad Church, Brandon served as the minister of evangelism at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. Brandon is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDIV) and has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University. He has been married to his wife Kara for 11 years. They have 4 children: Jayden (7 yr) and the “Triplets” Carter, Elise, Rayleigh- all 4 yrs.
Having grown up in a traditional SBC church, Brandon understands the pitfalls of an outward religion without an inward relationship. Early on, he fell into a performance based relationship with God where he wrongly thought that God either loved him or rejected him based on what he did or didn't do in his life. Then he truly met Jesus and undstood the Gospel - the fact that God accepts us based on what Jesus did for us and loves us unconditionally regardless of what we do or don't do.
As pastor, Brandon is passionate about helping people to both see and savor the Gospel as the greatest news the world has ever known. In his preaching, Brandon wants to help people discover the glory of God found in Christ and to delight in Christ as our everlasting treasure. Brandon is committed to expositional preaching. He preaches the timeless truths of God’s word in a relevant way which seeks to drive people to worship and action.
Brandon’s Hobbies include hunting, fishing, sports, family, & friends.
